On Days Off

Think about it. You suddenly have Friday off. Wow. Now you can really sleep in, relax, have a long breakfast, watch morning TV, long shower and do all those things you normally can’t do a regular work day like have coffee with a friend at two, stroll around town in empty stores, have another coffee, bake a cake.

Unfortunately that’s not how things work in real life when it’s windy, -4 outside and you’re in Göteborg. The sudden realisation of having a fresh eight hours at your hand is really no summer vacation. You realize things that things that have been ingeniously neglected suddenly are all Cinderella! on you.

“Laundry! Shopping! Cleaning! Carwash! Recycle station!” Cinderella, go, you only have six hours until it gets dark and your day off turns into a pumpkin.

At least I tried. I have a warm cat in my lap, had a prolonged breakfast, hit a new personal record in Scramble and I WILL meet a friend for coffee soon. After that I turn into Cindy and have laundry, shopping, cleaning, reparking the car and recycle station left before I get my glass shoe and a cloudberry spumante*.

Happy weekend all!
