Yes, I know.
Monologuer is hardly a forum for financial advicing. And I will definitely advise you to never take any financial advise from me other than this. I know what you think. Only parents and/or grandparents will even consider printing a photo on an everyday thing. Like of their children/grandchildren or pets. However I must say this print is different. Here’s what makes the difference:
- It must improve the design and look of the card. *
- If it also adds personal touch without being cheezy, queezy, (too) predictable or tacky you’re game.*
So my old beloved Seattle skyline had to go because the card got demagnetized and became useless. My next challenge then was to replace it with something that could carry the same dignity, still look good against the terrible orange/black combo Swedbank insists on AND be different from the former skyline.
Cookie to whoever spots the motif (observant readers would know).
Footnote: As far as my research goes I found only Swedbank and Handelsbanken to offer this to their customers. Swedbank charges you a lunch and an espresso for making your own card (100 SEK) and Handelsbanken a lunch and two espressos (123 SEK). And it takes less than one week to get it.
* not the banks’ rules, just mine ;p
Added note 7/7: People have pointed out that putting your card # on your blog is bad. Thank you for your concern all, but worry not, the photo is manipulated. I guess I did a good job if no one noticed ;)
