Ugly Trees

Hoping ‘outstanding drawings skills’ are not part of the job description for a syntactician I’m enthusiastically halfway through my little paper assignment on syntax and semantics.

Some people just have it. They’ll draw a nice tree at the first attempt. I’m not one of those. My trees need to undergo extreme make-over before even readable.

Luckily linguistics don’t deal with superficials. It’s the outcome, the inside that counts in the end. I hope. Anyway that’s what’s been keeping me busy since Ddorf. At the same time I’m planning for a new show next week and worrying about the dollar that might threaten my iPhone plans…

…to be continued.
