Visiting Malmö
Malmö’s great. Here prevails diversity, international air and falafel shops every 20 meters (or so it feels). I voted lazy for dinner. Around the corner from the hotel lies “Jalla Jalla” falafel shop. Expectantly and hungry I steer my steps toward it. Behind the counter is a boy, cap on his head, back to front, big eyes and a relaxed expression on his face.
Seconds before he was running on the street outside with his equally young friend, both of them laughing. Neither of them a day over 15. Imagine my surprise finding him, and ONLY him, behind the counter of the shop. I start looking for his parents or some adult being over his shoulder as he was trying to take my order. No one showed up and hesitantly I order from the fifteen year old. Slightly worried about the outcome of my dinner.
I learned a lesson. One must not be prejudiced. Yes, it might look like child labour but this boy made a great wrap in five minutes, efficient, service minded and friendly. Like a pro. Respect.

Bo; I didn’t know that. Sounds like a fitting concept for a place like Malmö!
