Review - Swing it!

Will someone please just translate this book already? Swing it! is Linda Unnhems debut novel in SWEDISH and I just finished it last night. Even though I slightly doubt the main character Lars Holm is a complete realistic representation of a 30+ Swedish male he’s entertaining and his dry yet hilarious ways of reasoning had me laugh page up and page down.

To touch and balance a subject like swinging without getting too detailed or having to deviate from the fiction genre I’m guessing is a challenge. Linda does it not only with wit but with accuracy when she throws in the Swedish skepticism mixed with fear of embarrassment (please re-read a Typical Swede if in doubt) and yet the longing for just being no different than any other regular small town couple. Who appearently are all into swinging.

If Swedish is your native language get a copy this weekend. The rest of you will have to wait for the translation (I’m bold enough to expect that).
