Sleeping from $ 17.000

I recently learned that Swedens only contribution on the list of Europes 50 best hotels is a modest 42nd place, Grand Hotel in Stockholm. Now I read that this guy on Gotland,  largest island in the Baltic Sea, is going to ensure that Sweden will play with the big boys on the topic of pricey hotel stays. Mistakingly a Swedish site claimed that when built it would be the most expensive hotel room in the world. I, suspicious since birth, did some quick googling and of course that is not the case. The most pricey stay I could locate was in France, Cannes for the next to nothing sum 314658 SEK / 53000 USD /33145 EUR.

The entire list is presented here. However. The hotel on Gotland might be one of the cooler options for a pricey nights sleep. 100000 SEK / 17.000 USD / 10533 EUR is the estimated nightly rate. The hotel is located in an old concrete work that he promises he’s NOT going to rebuild or renovate. You may sleep under the stars on the concrete ledge if you wish.

I must admit that the area fascinates me and is probably the foundation for his success so far. The photo to the left is the place. It does make you curious doesn’t it?
